Think of Creative Writing as a subject where you get to play with words and stories. It’s like

You want. But instead of drawing, you’re writing down stories, poems, or plays.

In Grade 12, especially for those studying Humanities and Social Sciences, Creative Writing

Is a class where you learn how to express your thoughts and feelings through writing. It’s not

Like your usual English class where you learn grammar and read old books. Here, you get to

Create your own stories and share what’s in your heart and mind.

The class is fun because it’s all about being creative. You’ll learn how to make characters

That feel like real people, places that readers can imagine in their heads, and stories that can

Make someone laugh, cry, or even think deeply about life. You’ll play with words to make

Beautiful poems that can say a lot with just a few lines. And if you like acting, you can write

Plays that can be performed on stage.

Your teacher will show you how great writers make their work so good. You’ll see how they

Use words to paint pictures in your mind, make you hear sounds, or even feel like you’re

Inside the story. You’ll learn tricks like how to make a scene feel exciting or how to describe a

Person so well that you think you’ve met them before.

But it’s not just about writing whatever you want. You’ll also learn how to make your writing

Better. You’ll write something, then look at it again and change some parts to make it

Stronger or clearer. This is called revising, and it’s a big part of being a good writer.

Creative Writing is also about sharing your work. You’ll read what you wrote to the class, and

They’ll tell you what they liked and what you can improve. It’s a bit scary at first, but it’s a

Great way to learn. And you’ll do the same for them, which helps you learn even more.

By the end of the class, you’ll have written lots of different things. You might have a
